Danfoss Automation Drive Plug-in for TwinCAT(R) -- Release Notes v3.0
================================================================================

Danfoss Automation Drive Plug-in for TwinCAT(R) - Version 3.0

This release adds 64-bit TwinCAT XAE support, broadens drive coverage, and includes
several plug-in improvements and fixes. All changes are relative to the previous
release version 1.58.

1. NEW FEATURES
---------------
  - 64-bit TwinCAT(R) XAE support. The Danfoss Drive Manager now installs and runs
in the 64-bit TwinCAT XAE engineering environment (TwinCAT XAE Shell 64-bit,
TwinCAT 3.1 Build 4026 and later), in addition to the existing 32-bit XAE. Both
a 32-bit and a 64-bit version of the plug-in are installed, so the Drive Manager
    tab works in either host.

  - EtherCAT ESI files are installed to the detected TwinCAT location. The setup now
finds the TwinCAT 3.1 EtherCAT folder automatically - the new location under
Program Files\Beckhoff (TwinCAT 4026) or the legacy C:\TwinCAT - instead of
assuming a fixed path, and stops with a message if no TwinCAT is found.

  - Updated EtherCAT ESI (device description) files - XML file version 24 to version 26.
The bundled Danfoss FC-series ESI files have been updated with:
      - New CSV (Cyclic Synchronous Velocity), CSP (Cyclic Synchronous Position), and
velocity mode slots for FC 302 / FCD 302 IMC and the FC 280 Safety Drive.
      - Read/Write PCD objects and support for the parameters needed for the NC profile.
      - Extended RxPDO/TxPDO mapping objects 0x1616 and 0x1A16 (from 10 to 20 entries).

  - Broader Control Word Profile coverage in the status display. Support for the
CANopen DSP 402 and FC Motion Profile control word profiles has been added.

  - High-DPI display support. The Danfoss Drive Manager tab now scales correctly on
high-DPI and display-scaled monitors (for example 4K screens or a Windows scaling
setting above 100%), so text, controls, and icons stay sharp and correctly laid
out instead of being rendered at a fixed 96 DPI.

      49.20.

3. IMPROVEMENTS AND FIXES
-------------------------
(Changes made in the plug-in software.)

  - New drive dialog. When you change the software version, the plug-in now keeps
the drive options you already selected (B, C0, C1) if the new version still
supports them (previously they were reset). Each list also pre-selects the first
available choice, and a busy indicator is shown while the option lists load.

  - Drive-type change detection. If a drive's type is changed in TwinCAT (for
example via "Change to Compatible Type..."), the plug-in now detects the change
the next time the Danfoss Drive Manager tab is opened, clears the previous
configuration, and shows the manual drive-creation panel so the drive can be
    re-created for the new type.

  - Numeric parameter entry. Numeric parameter values are now entered and displayed
according to your Windows regional settings - in particular the decimal
separator (for example a comma in German).

  - FC 280 identification (firmware-bug workaround). On some FC 280 firmware
versions the drive reports its long-text identification parameter (parameter
1598) incompletely. The plug-in now detects this and fills in the missing
details - power rating, supply voltage/phase, and installed options - by reading
parameters 1541, 1542, and 1560, so the drive is still identified correctly.

4. KNOWN ISSUES
---------------
  - Shared parameter database collision with MCT 10. The Danfoss Drive Manager and
Danfoss MCT 10 Set-up Software share the same parameter database (in the common
Danfoss Drives folder). If both products are installed and MCT 10 is later
uninstalled, the MCT 10 uninstaller removes the shared database, leaving the
Drive Manager without it. To restore the database, uninstall and then re-install
    the Danfoss Drive Manager.

  - CANopen DSP 402 profile - some objects not yet available over EtherCAT. When the
CANopen DSP 402 control word profile is used in Velocity mode, some objects are not
present in the drive's EtherCAT object dictionary. As a result, the Status Word
    reports a read error and reading parameters 3-02, 3-03, 16-01, 16-03, 16-05, 16-80
and 16-82 returns "Index offset invalid". This will be addressed in a future update
of the MC 124 EtherCAT option.

  - FC 280 - Status view. On the FC 280, the Status view provides bit-level
information for the Control Word and Status Word only.

5. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS & NOTES
------------------------------
  - The plug-in now runs on Microsoft .NET 8 instead of the legacy .NET Framework
4.0, which Microsoft no longer maintains or provides fixes for. The required
.NET 8 Desktop Runtime (x86) is installed automatically if not already present.

  - If a Danfoss EtherCAT ESI file is already present, the setup warns before
overwriting it. Take a backup if prompted - existing TwinCAT projects that use
the old file may need re-checking.
